Nathan Bracken is suing Cricket
Australia, claiming negligence for failing to properly deal with a knee
injury that “destroyed” his career. Bracken, who played 5 Tests and 116
ODIs for Australia, is arguing that Cricket Australia’s surgeons and
lead physio therapist can’t provide “good” health advice to elite
players.
News Limited newspapers claimed he was wanting around $ 1 million in
lost income. He claims Cricket Australia neglected to “check out,
diagnose and treat” a right knee injury suffered the day before a ODI
game against English side in January 07.
In his document of claim, Nathan Bracken
apparently declares that 2 physicians and a physio therapist working
for Cricket Australia should’ve recognised from MRI scans that he
necessary to have arthroscopic surgical treatment. He claims their
failure to refer him for more check-up by a expert orthopaedic doctor
and to restrict him from training and playing destroyed his career.
Cricket Australia confirmed law suit was under way but mentioned it couldn’t comment.
